E-asTTle Writing Test 2020 - Time With Friends
For my e-asTTel writing test i had to write about a time with friends. Here is my story-
One Sunday night at my grandparents house my friend Beata invited my sister to stay at her house for the night. I was full of excitement when my mum called my dad. We grabbed our school uniform, our night clothes, our toothbrushes, our hairbrush, our swimming togs and waited for our mum to pick us up. I was so impatient that I ordered my dad to ring my mum.
One hundred minutes later and then we drove to Beata’s house. It wasn’t far at all. I had butterflies in my stomach and my head was thinking of how much fun we would have. We ran out of the car, into the gate, knocked on the door and Meela and I were welcomed by Beata’s mum. I saw Beata in the background.
She asked if we wanted to go swimming in her ginormous, gigantic, awesome swimming pool. I said yes and we got changed into our swimming togs. Beata’s dad helped us put the ladder up and gather all the swimming toys. I saw a paddle board, a doughnut and another paddle board. Me, Beata and Meela were fighting over the doughnut. It was quite funny.
After the fun in the pool we had to get out. We got changed and then we sat down at the table. Beata’s mum gave us dinner and it was so delicious. We had tomato pasta with olives. When we finished eating we got some desert. Watermelon! Lucas ate all of them in one millisecond. We rested our tummies.
Once all of our tummies were finished sleeping we got straight into our togs and had a swim. I was so cold. So cold I almost froze! We made something like a tornado in a pool and we went round and round and round. Beata’s mum told us to come inside and get warm. We agreed and went inside.
We had to get ready for bed. We brushed our teeth, got dressed into our pyjamas, made our hut and gathered all our objects. When everyone went to sleep, Beata, Meela and I secretly watched movies on our netbooks. We were so tired we went to sleep while watching our movies.
In the morning we needed to get ready for school. But before we got ready we got into our togs and played in the pool. After we put our uniforms on and did our hair. Beata and Lucas made breakfast for us. We had chocolate sprinkled weetbix. It was so yummy that I almost ate the rest of the chocolate.
We walked to school and Lucas ran off. We saw Stella too. We caught up with her and she talked about her little brother Joseph. We got to school and learned. After school we went with my mum to McDonalds at Lunn Ave and then we went to stone-fields park. Then we went home.

Niuean Fact File
A week ago in class we started on a fact file on Niue. It was Niuean language week.
Fractions 27/10/20
Today for the first block of school Miss Nees-Kairua suggested we should do some maths. She split us up into three groups and then we took our books we were assigned to work on and headed to our work spaces. My group had to do fractions in a yellow book. It started pretty easy and got a little bit hard. With one of the activities we were able to choose if we wanted to do equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions or just write down the easiest answer possible. Me, Moala and Melenaite were working together but when it came up to the hard activities it was only me and Moala solving them. We chose to do simplifying fractions and equivalent fractions. They were quite fun to solve. After that we needed to solve an activity just like true or false. The book had a message like.. (eg. is this one half?) and we would have to answer yes or no! After that we needed to blog. That’s what I’m doing now and really enjoying it! Thank you!!

Narrative - As I saw it - Me the Mākoi
Me the Mākoi
Oh how clearly I can remember that day. It started with a very beautiful lady, some type of leaves and me! My name is mākoi and I have been through a really rough life. She was using me to make something called kākahu.
She took me back to the village where she lay down something called the finest inner fibre of harakeke on a mat. Now this is the part where I became useful. She scraped me along the length of the first strip of harakeke.
She continued until we all heard someone talking out loud, saying something about a waka has landed. They were talking about a guy called Otiriunui who fell back on his spot, after the people on the waka heard a bang as loud as thunder! He was surrounded with items until he was shot with a big hole in his back. Everyone was so worried.
251 years later someone found me. I was picked up by a little girl and taken to a laboratory which scanned me to reveal my history. I remember a bright horizontal light shining right in my eyes blinding me. They put me in a bag and transported me to the South Island where I was polished and sanded. After that I was taken all the way back to the north island in Auckland. I was taken to the University of Auckland. I was tested in the science lab. I heard a phone ring. They answered and I heard a tiny voice asking for me and many other objects. While that was in my brain I looked beside me and there were much more objects. I turned back to the call. A few days later a beautiful lady also known as a wonderful teacher took me to her class and I was presented to her class.
I am so happy with this story someone wrote about me. Her name’s Arvay and she is so smart ;) Thank you for reading this.
